Protecting our privacy is good, they say. Still the need for it makes me sad. Nameless, if you will.
Owning a cat reduces your risk of heart attack or stroke, but don’t try to outrun them.
When we run a race, do we start at the finish line? I LOVE the movie, Groundhog Day. In fact it might be my favourite of all time, but the day? What a ridiculous idea. We can’t skip over winter to get to spring. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SIX MORE WEEKS OF WINTER NO MATTER WHAT! This is Canada, for goodness sake. Nature has to run the race. We can’t start at finish line. That’s the theme of the movie. Settle in. Take steps over and over. You’ll get there.
I’m more comforted to feel that the Great Power is not separate and apart from me, and that it lies within us all. I find that to be a more tenable position in hard times, because then there’s no questioning or pointing fingers at a force outside of ourselves.
Winter is here, but it has been too “warm” (a relative term) to produce ice thick enough to support people on the Rideau Canal Skateway—the world’s largest skating rink. The conditions did produce this natural beauty though.
As a writer AND a reader, rain on the roof is a signal for cocooning, so cozy. Some family members got together to buy me a wall fountain for the patio out back. Now the trickle there is soothing. I know fall will bring more tolerable weather for enjoying this.
Thanks, Arlene, for providing comfort today. 🙂
Oh, I love a water fountain. Just thinking about it makes me feel more relaxed. I used to have a small one in my office, but it got broken in a move. I think I need to replace it, now that you mention it. How wonderful that would be.
Beautiful photo. It’s interesting how slightly different weather prompts anyone to do entirely different things. Snooze away, it’ll be great.
Thanks, I love the photo too. It’s a “everything is right with the world” kind of picture. I snoozed, I relaxed, and now I’m back from the cottage, recharged to take on what the fall brings.
Rainy weather is perfect for indoor activities.
There are days where I think, “I wish it was raining today so I’d have a good excuse to stay inside.” That happens! A balance between sun and rain is a good thing.
